What is hemoglobin?<\/h3>\n

It is a protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen. The hemoglobin test measures the amount of hemoglobin in your blood, and is done by a blood test.<\/p>\n

The lack of them is motivated by changes in the stomach or intestines in the process of absorption of nutrients (such as celiac disease, for example), insufficient nutrition, slow loss of blood or a surgery in which part of the stomach is removed or bowels.<\/p>\n

    How to maintain hemoglobin levels?<\/strong><\/p>\n

    • One of the most practical ways is through food. It is recommended to consume moderately red and white meats (lamb, veal liver, clams, shrimp, etc.), due to its high iron content that can help raise hemoglobin levels, if they are too low .     • Likewise, it is recommended to include vegetables in the diet, especially green leafy ones (Swiss chard and spinach), as well as potato with skin, beet and pumpkin, also in moderation.
